FAQ
What can I teach on MegaMinds?
Anything! If you can teach it in the classroom, you can teach it on MegaMinds. Think of each virtual classroom as an extension of your regular classroom. The 3D nature of the platform makes it an ideal place to visualize complex ideas and concepts and for collaborative activities.
What does it cost?
It’s our commitment to keep MegaMinds free for school teachers. As a school (K-12) teacher, you can use MegaMinds Basic for free – and so can your students.
What devices can run MegaMinds?
Because it is browser-based, you can access MegaMinds with any device! Simply share a link and your students can join a 3D room. For the best experience, use a laptop (Chromebooks, Windows, Mac). Tablets and phones can also access any lesson but have some reduced functionality. For the most immersive experience, use a VR headset like a Meta Quest 2 or 3. MegaMinds even runs in the new Apple Vision Pro.
What materials can I share in the 3D Rooms?
Almost anything! From static content like photos and PDFs, to YouTube videos, to GIFs and 3D objects. You can even add assessment questions to do checks for understanding.
How do students join a lesson?
Simply share out the room link via email, Google Classroom, or any LMS you normally use. One click and they’re in!
Can my students build their own 3D Rooms?
100%. Via Assignments, you can give your stundents a fun canvas to demonstrate knowledge. They can work individually or in groups. And you’ll find they’re like fish in water in on our platform. Most don’t require any onboarding at all.
What happens to my lesson after the students are finished with their digital worlds?
Our 3D Rooms are persistent (think of them like 3D websites). You can access them at anytime and you can continually alter or update them. Your students can also revisit them at anytime during the school year to refresh or re-learn. And you can use them again with next year’s students.
